Building Board of Appeals

Building Board of Appeals consists of five members, and meets the second Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.


City Beautiful Commission

Civil Service Commission

The Civil Service Commission consists of two members appointed by the Mayor, two members of the council, and a fifth member chosen by those four. Meets on the second Thursday of every month.


Demolition Board of Appeals

Consists of five members, including a building contractor, a registered architect/engineer, a citizen member, a member of City council or designee, a registered building official, and a plan reviewer or inspector. Meets as necessary.


Disability Concerns Commission

Consists of nine members, and meets at least one per quarter. 2017 meeting schedule:

East Dearborn Development Area Citizens Council

Consists of nine members, all of whom must live in the development area. Meetings are held as needed.


East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority

Consists of 10 members and the mayor, including at least one resident of the downtown district. A majority of members must be persons with interest in property located within the district. meets the second Thursday of every month in the Council Chambers at the Dearborn Administrative Center.


Election Commission

Consists of three members: the City clerk, Corporation counsel, and a private citizen. Responsible for appointing election inspectors at least 21 days but no more than 40 days before each election. ballot must be approved at least 10 days before election.

Local Officials Compensation Commission

Consists of seven members. The commission meets for not more than 15 session days in each odd numbered year and makes its determination on compensation for local officials within 45 calendar days of its first meeting.

Consists of 11 members, including representation from a mayoral appointee, City Council, the West and East Downtown Development Authorities, east and west downtown property owners, downtown residential, development community, traffic, user, and parking management. Meets quarterly.
