Dearborn residents and business owners in the area bounded by Chase Road and E. Moross Circle, and W. Warren and Tireman are invited by DTE Energy to attend a May 24 public meeting about the extensive gas meter and gas line replacement project in your neighborhood.
The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24 at the Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave.
DTE Energy’s Gas Renewal Program is continuing natural gas infrastructure upgrades in Dearborn this year to ensure safe and reliable delivery of energy for customers well into the future.
The program is an extensive endeavor that requires cooperation from home and building owners.
Representatives from DTE Energy will provide an overview of the planned construction work, which includes entering homes to relocate gas meters outside and upgrading the devices to advanced meters, if not done already.
Crews will also upgrade cast-iron and steel natural gas mains as well as steel and copper natural gas service lines. This work will involve disruption of easements in front of property.
Residents may not opt out of having the work done.
The May 24 meeting will include a question-and-answer session. Questions may also be directed to DTE Energy by calling 313-256-6227.
DTE and the City of Dearborn appreciate the community’s support for the project to date and look forward to providing more residents with the benefits of upgraded infrastructure in 2017.
