Two lanes each way will be maintained; change expected through Dec. 31

Beginning Saturday, October 28, (weather permitting) no left turns will be allowed in the three intersections at Mason, Monroe, and Oakwood from traffic traveling in either direction on Michigan Avenue in west Dearborn.

Traffic lanes will shift on eastbound Michigan Avenue from Mason to Oakwood to safely accommodate the Wagner Place construction project.

Some delays are anticipated and alternative routes are advised during heavy traffic hours. The traffic shift is expected to last until at least mid-December and could take until Dec. 31.

Traffic changes will include:

  • No left turns from Michigan Avenue (east or west) onto Oakwood, Monroe, and Mason.
  • The eastbound curb lane will be sectioned off to support the building construction on the south side of Michigan Avenue.
  • The two eastbound lanes will shift north one lane, taking over the center turn lane. Two westbound lanes will be maintained as well.
  • The speed limit in the construction zone will be reduced to 25 mph.

About Wagner Place Construction

Ford Motor Company is transforming about two blocks of aging buildings into a unique mixed-use urban space. The 150,000-square-foot development will have first-floor retail and restaurants, two floors of workspace and a rooftop patio.

In partnership with the City of Dearborn and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the project also includes a new public parking deck, landscapes and common areas. For community preservation purposes, the cupola from the historic Wagner Hotel is being preserved architecturally.

Approximately 600 Ford global data insights and analytics employees will occupy Wagner Place once construction is completed.
