Padzieski Gallery hosts art exhibition
from June 12 through August 2, featuring highlighted works from Artists
Society and Public Schools of Dearborn
The Padzieski Gallery in Dearborn’s Ford Community and Performing
Arts Center will host an exhibit entitled Highlights from the Artists
Society and Public Schools of Dearborn.
The exhibit’s opening reception is free and open to the public.
It will be held on Thursday, June 12, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The exhibit
will run through Saturday, August 2, and is free and open to the public.
The Center is located at 15801 Michigan Avenue (corner of Greenfield
Road).
The Padzieski Gallery is a program of the Dearborn Community Arts Council
in cooperation with the City of Dearborn. The gallery’s hours
are Tuesday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday from noon to
5:30 p.m. and through intermission during performances in The Center’s
theater.
The exhibit features a medley of established and youthful talent from
the Artists Society of Dearborn and Dearborn Public Schools.
The modest beginning of the Artists Society of Dearborn came in 1949,
when 25 individuals interested in art met in Pansey Taylor’s living
room.
“Today, the Artists Society has grown and its members continue
to share and develop through art while contributing to the community,”
said the group’s vice president, David Gorden.
The exhibit at the Padzieski Gallery will feature artwork from the
Artists Society’s juried spring exhibit, held at the Rotunda Gallery
in the Henry Ford Centennial Library earlier this year.
Another portion of the exhibit displays outstanding examples of visual
art produced by students in Dearborn Public Schools. The featured artwork
received Juror’s Choice Awards in the May school exhibit at the
Padzieski Gallery. The work of the selected senior artists from Dearborn,
Edsel Ford and Fordson High Schools will also be exhibited.
