The Dearborn Summer Festival Chorus Performs July
23
at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center
The Dearborn Summer Festival Chorus, directed by G. Kevin Dewey and
sponsored by the Dearborn Recreation Department, will be presenting
a concert at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, in the Michael A. Guido Theater
in Dearborn’s Ford Community and Performing Arts Center.
This mixed chorus of more than 100 voices will be featuring Randall
Thompson’s Frostiana: Seven Country Songs, based on poems by Robert
Frost. In addition, a wide array of traditional choral works by composers
such as Franz Joseph Haydn and Alexander Gretchaninoff will be performed.
G. Kevin Dewey has been conducting area choirs for over two decades
and also brings to the podium experience as a professional vocal and
instrumental performer, composer and arranger. He is Director of Choirs
at Henry Ford Community College (HFCC) and the Vanguard Voices, which
is a program of the Dearborn Recreation Department and is choir-in-residence
at HFCC.
General admission tickets for the concert are $5 and children ages
12 and under are free. Tickets are available for purchase at The Center’s
