Upcoming events for senior citizens offered
The City of Dearborn’s Senior Services Division – part
of the Dearborn Recreation Department – is offering the following
events for senior citizens.
Except where otherwise noted, they will be held in the senior citizen
services area of Dearborn’s Ford Community & Performing
Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Avenue (corner of Michigan and Greenfield
Road).
Pack Your Bag: Free Medication Consultation –
Sign up for a one-on-one consultation with a local CVS pharmacist
on Tuesday, July 22, at 10 a.m. The consultant will give tips and
tools for medication compliance, help identify duplicate and outdated
prescriptions or over the counter medications and answer questions
on prescription and non-prescription medications. Remember to bring
all your medications. Pack Your Bag events are sponsored by the National

The Detroit Institute of Arts / In Full Bloom: Flowers and
Plants in Art – A Detroit Institute of Arts representative
will make a presentation entitled “In Full Bloom” on Wednesday,
July 23, at 10:30 a.m. Travel across continents and through history
to discover the special meaning behind flowers and plants and how
they are used in art. A $1 donation will be collected at the door.
Dearborn Senior Walking Club – Walk your way to good
health. The Dearborn Senior Walking Club meets every Monday,
Wednesday and Friday at The Center’s indoor running track. Check-in
is from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Walk the track from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Members
set personal goals and record mileage. Membership is open to Dearborn
senior citizens. Members who are not Center passholders pay $1 per
visit. Members who are Center passholders walk for free. For more

Blood Pressure, Cholesterol and Glucose Checks – The
City of Dearborn Health Department nurse offers free blood pressure
check for seniors every Thursday from 9-11 a.m. Cholesterol and glucose
checks are available for a fee of $5 each. For more information, call
