New payment due dates and installment payment method taking effect for Dearborn property tax payers

Dearborn property tax payers should be aware of new changes in tax payment due dates, and a change in the number of payments allowed for those who pay by installments beginning in July 2008.

The changes were part of the amendments to the Dearborn City Charter that voters approved in November, 2007.

The number of installment payments that can be made on summer property tax bills has been reduced from four installments to three installments.
The due dates for the payments of those installments have also changed: the new due dates are September 14, November 14 and January 14. (The due dates under the old four-installment system were August 20, October 20, December 20 and February 20.)
