The City Plan Division, in conjunction with the Department of Law, determines whether a piece of City-owned property will be listed for sale. There are established procedures for the advertisement of City-owned property.
The City sells the property through a bidding process.
The City releases a Vacant Property Lot List once a year with vacant properties that are for sale. Interested buyers may bid on a property while the bidding process is open. The bidding process for the 2017 Lot List is now closed.
Any properties that are not sold remain on the Leftover Lot List. Printed copies can be obtained from the Legal Department. Call 313-943-2035 for more information. The current Leftover Lot List can be when available here:

CITY OF DEARBORN PARKING LOTS FOR SALE 2018
These properties were selected from an inventory of City-owned lots. Each of the properties should be inspected by the prospective bidder to gain a better understanding of its size, location and amenities. Sealed bids will be received by the City of Dearborn, Purchasing Dept, 16901 Michigan Ave., Dearborn, MI 48126, up to and including Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. (Eastern Time Zone). Sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud as soon thereafter as possible on the same day in the City Council Chambers. City Council approval is required for the purchase or sale of any property by the City.
If a vacant property is City-owned and not included on the Lot List, interested buyers must submit a written request to the Department of Law, including the property address or property Tax ID#, as well as the prospective buyer's name, address and phone number.
