This year, the Dearborn City Beautiful Commission is piloting a program to recognize homeowners who decorate their front yards for the fall season with a Halloween theme or with features that celebrate autumn, including pumpkins, mums, bales of hay, cornstalks, seasonal flowers and colors.
Residents are encouraged to nominate their neighbors, or their own homes, for the Dearborn Aglow: Fall Decorating Edition. The nomination period has been extended and nominations will be accepted through Monday, Oct. 16.
Commissioners will be judging homes from Oct. 17-22. The Commission highly encourages residents to participate in this new program as a way of spreading the fall season holiday fun and excitement throughout the community.
To nominate a house, call 313-943-2154 or complete the nomination form for Dearborn Aglow: Fall Decorating Edition by Oct. 16. You can also visit the City's website at: cityofdearborn.org/community/city-beautiful-programs/programs.
This is a wonderful time for residents to travel through the city to view the vivid and unique displays exhibited by their neighbors.
The honorees in this new autumn category will be announced on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Homes chosen as honorees will receive special recognition from the City Beautiful Commission.
