The Dearborn Public Library presents the annual Summer Reading Challenge, which runs June 20, 2022 through August 14, 2022. The Summer Reading Challenge is designed to engage and inspire patrons with programs, activities and of course, reading! The program provides incentives and activities for entertainment and personal growth for adults and kids alike, all related to the theme “Oceans of Possibilities”.
Reading during the summer is encouraged by educators to reinforce the skills students developed during the school year. “If you have a struggling or reluctant reader, sometimes the only way to motivate them is to provide incentives. Not only do we provide prizes to encourage reading, but we also have free, fun activities planned throughout the summer to inspire children, teens, and adults. This year, participants have the added flexibility of setting their own reading goal,” said Susan Jelic, Supervisor of Youth Services.
Patrons can join the Summer Reading Challenge by visiting any Dearborn Public Library or online at dearbornlibrary.beanstack.org on or after June 20, 2022.
The Henry Ford Centennial Library will host a kickoff event on June 20, 2022 featuring Beverly Meyer, the Music Lady, at 5:00pm. All are invited to attend.
