City of Dearborn buildings will be closed in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and most buildings will also be closed in observance of New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Since Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day all fall on weekend days this year, the city will observe the holidays on the weekdays before and after each weekend.
City buildings, including the Dearborn Administrative Center, the Courts, the Libraries, Senior Services, and the Senior Center offices at The Center, will be closed on Friday, Dec. 23, and Monday, Dec. 26. They will also be closed on Friday, Dec. 30, and Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.
Trash and recycling collection will occur as normal on all observed holiday weekdays and will be collected on Friday, Dec. 23, Monday, Dec. 26, and again on Friday, Dec. 30, and Monday, Jan. 2, 2023.
Residents with any questions about trash or recycling collection should call GFL at 844-233-8314.
The Ford Community and Performing Arts Center will be closed on Friday, Dec. 23, Saturday, Dec. 24, and Sunday, Dec. 25. They will be open from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve, and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1, New Year’s Day.
The Dearborn Ice Skating Center (DISC) will be closed on Dec.24 and 25. The DISC will be open on Saturday, Dec. 31 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will close again on Sunday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.
SMART Transportation services, a function of Senior Services, will continue to operate from Dec. 27 – Dec.29 for dialysis and other medical appointments. The transportation service will be closed all other days from Friday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Jan. 2.
The Fire Department and the Police Department will remain open everyday, 24 hours per day.
All city buildings will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
