Ramadan is a special month for so many Dearborn families. That’s why it’s important to ensure the health and safety of those observing Ramadan, including safe dining, travel, and gathering.
The City of Dearborn has received many requests from food vendors about operating during the month. To ensure late-night activities are as smooth and safe as possible, we will be designating space in our West Downtown for permitted food vendors to operate in a safe central location (shown below).
This will help ensure traffic and pedestrian safety while providing plenty of parking access in the West Downtown parking structures. Food trucks that wish to operate in this area should contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. AND include "Ramadan" in the subject line to discuss the requirements. Vendors who wish to operate their own pop-up tents in this area should also reach out. Per our policy from last year, tent structures must obtain a permit before operating anywhere in the city of Dearborn.
This process is separate from private festivals. Vendors planning to operate as part of private food festivals across the city should work through festival organizers who can reach out to the city with any questions on our process and requirements.
As always, the City of Dearborn remains an eager partner to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all.
