George T. Darany has served Dearborn, for the past 15 years, as an elected officeholder, but for many years before that through his volunteer service with groups like Dearborn Rotary, Dearborn Goodfellows, Dearborn Public Schools, Karmanos Cancer Institute and others.
He served on Dearborn City Council from 2007 through 2010, and then was Dearborn’s State Representative for six years, the maximum allowed under term limits. And since January 1, 2016, he has been Dearborn City Clerk.
George is a twice past president of the Goodfellows and a former Rotarian of the Year. He has been an usher at Sacred Heart Church since 2000 and is a past Executive Officer and member with the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce for 30 years.
He is a graduate of Edsel Ford High School and holds a degree in economics from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. George has completed classes from Central Michigan University and now the holds the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk.
He has been a Real Estate Broker for 20 years and George owned and operated the Classic Trolley Company in Dearborn from 1986 until 2007.
