RRgateway300pxThe City of Dearborn has more than 40 parks and playgrounds, many with walking trails.

The Rouge River Gateway Trail offers a 1.5 mile path and two pedestrian bridges over the Rouge River that allows bikers and walkers to go from Hines Drive through the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Henry Ford College campuses and to the shopping and entertainment district of west Dearborn.

While using the trail to pass through the UM-Dearborn campus, be sure to visit its Environmental Interpretive Center,  which is home to many nature exhibits, the Rouge River Bird Observatory, an urban mushroom garden and a 300+ acre Environmental Study Area and walking/hiking trails.
