Join the Dearborn Symphony for an evening of friends and fairy tales April 22 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center. We begin with our friends from the Dearborn Youth Symphony playing the famous Pomp and Circumstance March for our annual Side-By-Side event. Then, French composer Maurice Ravel’s masterful take on fairy tales from the world of Mother Goose. All of the colors of the orchestral rainbow are revealed within well-known stories like The Tale of Tom Thumb and Beauty and the Beast. Finally, Edward Elgar salutes his friends and a wide variety of characters in the Enigma Variations. This favorite for audiences and orchestra members alike includes dedications and musical winks to Elgar’s wife, eccentric friends, musical colleagues and the stunningly beautiful Nimrod variation.
