The City of Dearborn is governed by a Mayor and seven-member City Council.

The Mayor interacts daily with the public and works with the City Council and City department heads to ensure the continuance of Dearborn's high level of public service, as well as maintaining the City budget.

The Mayor's Office also handles many requests from individuals and groups within the city, such as arranging for the Mayor to speak at or attend an event.
