Meet the Fire Chief

The Dearborn Fire Department strives to provide the highest possible level of life safety and property conservation to the Dearborn and Melvindale community.

Our primary motivation is the safety of our firefighters and the communities we serve. We recognize that it takes unity, courage, honor, loyalty and compassion in everything we do in order to achieve the high standards set forth by this department.

Annually, the department responds to more than 14,200 emergency incidents and maintains an ISO Class 3 rating. Dearborn and Melvindale are protected by five engine companies, one quint company, two ladder companies, and five ALS ambulances housed at fire stations strategically located throughout Dearborn and Melvindale.

Dearborn Fire provides protection for 27.3 square miles and nearly 110,000 residents.

Dearborn Fire provides fire suppression services, paramedic level emergency medical care, fire prevention, public education, fire investigation, emergency management and hazardous material/rescue operations to our citizens. These services are provided by 128 full-time firefighters at four fire stations throughout Dearborn and one in Melvindale.
