Residents are reminded that under Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” executive order, they are prohibited from gathering with those who do not live in their household, to reduce the potential spread of the new coronavirus, COVID-19.
The governor’s executive order states, with some exceptions, that “all public and private gatherings of any number of people occurring among persons not part of a single household are prohibited.”
Residents may leave their homes for a limited number of reasons and must follow social distancing guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, such as remaining six feet away from people outside the individual’s household, as possible. Among the allowed activities are certain outdoor activity; caring for a family member; or to obtain necessary services or supplies for themselves, as allowed by the executive order for individuals.
The entire executive order can be found at https://bit.ly/2UQ2FPl. A willful violation of this executive order is a misdemeanor.
