Residents are reminded that under Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order No. 2020-21, they are prohibited from gathering with those who do not live in their household, to reduce potential spread of the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

The Governor’s Executive Order states, with some narrow exceptions, that “all public and private gatherings of any number of people occurring among persons not part of a single household are prohibited.”

Residents may leave their homes for a limited number of reasons, and must follow social distancing guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, such as remaining six feet away from people outside the individual’s household. Among the limited reasons individuals may leave their homes are certain outdoor activities while remaining six feet from people outside the individual’s household; caring for a family member; performing critical infrastructure work after being so designated by their employer; seeking necessary medical care or medication for themselves, their family or household members; or to obtain necessary services or supplies for themselves, their family or household members.
