As of April 2, residents may be seeing several home construction projects still taking place during Gov. Whitmer’s Executive Order to “Stay Home, Stay Safe." While most non-essential operations have ceased, some limited construction work may continue under the state order.

Any construction related to weatherproofing, emergencies, or safety are considered a necessary type of construction. Any ongoing construction not covered under these three categories must arrive at a safe place and stop once they are complete and inspected by the City.

The executive order does not prohibit any ongoing State construction projects, which may include roadwork or essential infrastructure.

Dearborn inspectors are regularly monitoring all construction sites throughout the city to ensure they are permitted and essential, and will address each construct site on its own.
