Earlier this afternoon, the Dearborn Police Department welcomed three new police officers, and promoted three additional longstanding members to higher positions within the department.

In a joyous ceremony that included family and Dearborn Police colleagues, Police Chief Issa Shahin kicked off the ceremony by welcoming the new officers, congratulating the promotees, and thanking the families for their sacrifice and support. “To our new officers Paul Tepatti, Jacob May, and Grant Webb, welcome to the Dearborn Police Department. You’re joining a top-class organization, one of the best in the nation,” he said. To the promotees, he added, “I know that your promotions will improve the police department, and push us to higher ground… I’m incredibly proud to be part of this family.”

Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud administered oath of office for the six Dearborn Police officers at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. In his remarks,

Mayor Hammoud thanked Chief Shahin and the officers and their families, saying, “You have the full support of this administration, and the full support of the community… I hope that you see within this department that there is a family of folks who will be there for your loved ones to lean on, and you’ll have us to lean on, and this community to lean on.”

The oath of office was administered to the following police personnel:

- Officer Grant Webb
- Officer Paul Tepatti

Promotions
- Commander Madou Bazzi
- Lieutenant Jason Skoczylas
- Sergeant Jeremy Krakowski
