Several weeks ago, the Dearborn Police K-9 Unit was entered into the K-9 Aftermath Grant contest to provide necessary supplies and equipment for its K-9 Unit.
Even with great community participation, the Department did not win the grant. However, during this same period, local resident Ahmad Nehme contacted the Police Department and pledged to make a $2,500 donation to the K-9 Unit if the Department was not a recipient of the contest prize.
On Friday, Nov. 18, Mr. Nehme presented a check for $2,500 to the Dearborn Police Officers Charities, Chief Issa Shahin, Commander Bazzi, and Sergeant Carpenter, who were all there to accept the donation, along with K-9 Team Cpl. Gibson and K-9 Loki.
Thank you to Mr. Nehme for the generous donation.
