Registration is underway the Service Desk of the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center for swim lessons, offered this summer at each of the City’s five outdoor pools.
Swim lessons, conducted Monday through Thursday in two-week sessions, feature instruction at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels and run for 30 minutes. Make-up lessons, if necessary, are held on Fridays.
Sessions offered at Dunworth Pool run June 19-29, July 10-20, July 24-August 3 and August 7-17.
Sessions offered at Ford Woods, Lapeer, Summer Stephens and Ten Eyck Pools run June 19-29, July 10-20 and July 24-August 3.
Cost: $65 for Dearborn residents and $85 for non-residents. All participants must also obtain a swim tag, also available at the Service Desk of the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.
Seven types of summer swim tags, good for admittance to Dearborn’s outdoor pools this summer, are available.
- Resident Youth (ages 13 and under), free.
- Resident Student (ages 14-17), $60.
- Resident Adult (ages 18-59), 80.
- Resident Senior (ages 60 and over), $60.
- Resident Family (two adults and up to four children), $160.
- Non-Resident, $185.
- Non-Resident Family (two adults and up to four children), $345.
To obtain a Resident Youth tag, parents must provide proof of residency and the birthdate of their child.
To purchase a Resident Adult, Resident Senior or Resident Family tag, proof of residency in the form of a driver’s license or government-issued ID card is required.
Summer swim tags must be sewn on to a swim suit, towel, or beach bag prior to admittance. The City reserves the right to deny entry for improperly secured tags.
Summer swim tags do not provide admission to the indoor pools at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.
The Service Desk at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
