One Investigative Division corporal is specifically assigned as an intelligence officer and assigned to the Michigan High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Investigative Services and Deconfliction Center (HIDTA ISDC), and to the Detroit and Southeast Michigan Information and Intelligence Center (DSEMIIC) Fusion Centers. Fusion Centers are state-owned and operated centers that serve as focal points in states and major urban areas for the receipt, analysis, gathering and sharing of threat-related information between government and private sectors.
The Fusion Center Liaison develops and maintains those relationships with outside agencies to expedite the flow of information and intelligence to and from the Dearborn Police Department with state, federal, and local partners. These partnerships result in the resolution of many crimes that are affecting Dearborn and regional communities. Fighting regional serial-crimes, such as human trafficking, auto theft, organized retail fraud, and identity theft, is a primary focus.
While assigned to HIDTA ISDC, responsibilities include the handling of Classified and Sensitive Information, providing investigative support, Event Deconflictions, Intelligence Requests and Case Matching services. The Fusion Liaison also provides access to agency specific information. Providing this access allows the Michigan HIDTA ISDC personnel to obtain pertinent local agency report information which aids in the completion of intelligence products and reports.
