The Parking Ordinance Enforcement Unit is responsible for all enforcement action within the parking districts and streets of the City. These Officers are also responsible for public service days, abandoned vehicles, nuisance violations, commercial vehicle parking complaints, residential zoning complaints, school crossing details and ordinance violations.
Utilizing new electronic citation technology, Officers are able to use eChalking for parking spaces and eliminates paper processes. The technology also allows Officers to create citations and transmit the data directly to the 19th District Court while away from the police station. This allows residents to make inqueries in a more timely and transparent fashion.
Special Parking Permits
Parking ordinances are strictly enforced in the City of Dearborn. Understandably, some special parking permits may be needed for approved exemptions. Applications need to be approved before the special parking is allowed.
See below for links to download permit applications. Fill out the required permit application, provide the requested materials and bring to the Dearborn Police Department to begin the permit approval process.
